Guided visit of Saint-Germain-en-Laye, city of kings, every saturday & sunday
Until Sept. 30th, in partnership with the Saint-Germain Boucles de Seine Tourist Office, we offer a guided tour every Saturday at 3 p.m. & every Sunday at 11 a.m.!
Did you know that 29 kings of France stayed and left their mark on the royal town of Saint-Germain-en-Laye ?
After the historical presentation of the city and the exteriors of the Château-Vieux, the guide-lecturer will accompany you from the French and English gardens of the National Estate to the Grande Terrasse designed by Le Nôtre which overlooks the Seine as far as Paris.
You will see the Château-Neuf, birthplace of Louis XIV in 1638.
Then, you will stroll through the historic districts according to anecdotes about the mansions and the origin of the names of the streets. Along this walk, you will discover the multitude of food shops.
For centuries, some shops and brands have been veritable institutions.
One of the culinary specialties of the city will be offered to you during the visit.
